Anoushka Shankar

Anoushka Shankar is a British-American sitarist and musician. She is the youngest woman and was the first person to receive an official British House of Commons shield. Anoushka is the rising star in Indian sitar. She is the student of Ravi Shankar, and the daughter of Ravi Shankar. She was born in London in 1982. She was a young girl who travelled between London in London and New Delhi. In New Delhi, she made her first appearance at only 13 years of age. She then moved into Encinitas CA, where she obtained her High School diploma with honors in 1999. Anouskha is still a young woman, but she has a very remarkable career in the field of music and performance. Her father was with her on numerous occasions for some time. In 1998, she dropped Anourag as her first album as a solo artist. The album was titled the album Live At Carnegie Hall, a Grammy-nominated album two years later. She has performed at most famous venues throughout the world. Anoushka's career does not only comprise music. Bapi The Love of My Live is her 2002 memoir, that is a tribute to Ravi Shankar. In addition, she acted in a the film "Dance Like a Man" in 2003. The role she played was that of as a Bharat Nayam dancer on Dance Like a Man. Anoushka shankar is a rising celebrity and her popularity is expected to continue growing. Anoushka spent a lot of time between London and Delhi during her young years. Then, she relocated to California to attend high school. From the age of nine she began studying music under her father, who made her first on the sitar four years later at his birthday party in Delhi. Anoushka performed with her father on his worldwide tour, gained a remarkable number of experiences. When she was in her teens, she played in Carnegie Hall as part of Peter Gabriel's WOMAD as well as recorded with George Harrison. She was the youngest and sole female recipient of the House of Commons Shield awarded by British Parliament to recognize her artistry and musicianship as an outstanding musician from the Asian Arts.
